When it happens, there’s nothing quite like it (although the guys at Bien Nacido in California and Bergdolt-Reif & Nett?in Germany are hunting the same beast). ?A good Burgundy is so good it defies description, it’s ethereal, it’s evasive, you just know that it’s good.And here’s one. ?Quite a lot of money for a bottle of splosh. ?But as far as transcendental experiences go… a bargain!

Notes of smoked meat, wild black fruit, roast espresso and coniferous forest floor. On the palate the wine is supple and nicely concentrated, the fine but chalky tannins only asserting themselves on the finish.
