Fonterutoli Chianti Classico

This is not, repeat NOT, the stuff you used to wash down pizza in the corner pizzeria when you first discovered that there were these terribly sophisticated places that served pizza on plates rather than in boxes.  THIS is proper Chianti, made in the heart of Tuscany’s Chianti region (that’s what makes it ‘Classico’) and showing why Chianti – and Sangiovese, it’s principal grape – rightly deserve their reputation as one of the world’s greats.It’s light but powerful, bright but deep.  It’s packed with morello cherries and red plums underpinned by woody, tobacco notes.  If you’re still thinking about the stuff you drank in the first restaurant you went to with tablecloths and everything, this will change the way you think about Chianti.
