Nieto Patrimonial Bonarda
Bonarda is (wrongly) an overlooked grape variety. Originally from the Savoie region of France, it is now Argentina’s second most planted red wine grape after Malbec.

Look for soft tannins and a subtle hint of tobacco. Flavours of blackberries, raspberries, plum jam and baking spices all reminded us of pears poached in red wine. The official tasting notes describe a bright nose of fresh cherries and toast over a dark palate of five spice, Christmas cake and dark chocolate with a long, rich finish.
Grown in vineyards established in the early nineteen eighties in Lujan de Cuyo and aged in French oak for 10 months.

"Roberto González is rare among winemakers in Argentina because he specialises in Bonarda and has even written a book about the variety. Sourced from four parcels within the same vineyard, this is a textured, unwooded style with flavours of bramble, plum and red berries and supple, easy-going tannins."
