Gouden Carolus Imperial Dark

A brew fit for an emperor!

Holy Roman Emperor Charles V was born on 24 February 1500 and took regular deliveries of Het Anker’s Gouden Carolus ale throughout his adult life.

To mark Charles’ birthday, every year on 24 February Het Anker brews the “Gouden Carolus Cuvée van de Keizer Imperial Dark.” 

This dark ale’s smooth and fruity character combines a warming fullness of flavor with a refreshing finish, complemented by notes of roasted malt, caramel, plums and chocolate. It’s great on its own. We recomend it as an after dinner ale but we won’t stop yopu having it with your Cornflakes. You might also like to try it with desserts featureing chocolate and/or vanilla.

This award winning beer will evolve over the years developing increasingly refined complexity and intense aromas.
