It’s a golden colour that you’d swear was a dessert wine. Sniff it. It’s got a bouquet that you would swear was Sauternes. Yet taste it and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by its dry, tannic, yet honeyed, orange zesty depths.
To achieve this, native Portugese grapes, Arinto, Verdelho (admittedly that’s Portugese for Verdejo from just over the Spanish border) and Antao Vaz are macerated on their skins prior to fermentation for those yeasty, tannic depths.
But importantly – and unlike too many other orange wines – this wine is clean, clean, clean! It’s made with low sulphur, too.
