Apogee 12 Year Old – Bimber Distillery

The Bimber Distillery is situated in North-West London so is considered a close neighbour to us.

Composed of the finest malt whiskies to sit at the peak of perfection, Apogee 12 Year Old is a flawlessly balanced creation, celebrating and showcasing the artistry of whisky making.

Expertly blended and further enhanced through additional maturation in ex-bourbon casks, Apogee 12 Year Old combines honeyed sweetness with the beloved, tropically fruit-forward character of Bimber’s spirit.

NOSE: Spiced pears and oven-baked apricot flans are sweetened by candy necklaces and scented with rosewater, nutmeg and powdered ginger.

PALATE: Syrupy orchard and stone fruits provide a bright and fresh mouthfeel supported by lightly charred oak, gentle white pepper and cooling mint.                                                      

FINISH: Lingering ripe and sweet fruits alongside sympathetic, aromatic oak.

Apogee, meaning “the highest point,” tells the story of the fine art of blending. The Apogee range brings together the world’s finest malt whiskies, carefully chosen for their distinctive character, and then additionally enhanced by maturation in ex-Bimber casks.

Each release within the Apogee range is composed of expertly selected malt whisky casks. These distinctive whiskies are first delicately woven together through a precise approach to the alchemy of blending. The whisky is then enhanced further through additional maturation in ex-Bimber casks, a step that brings even new, complex harmonies.

The ex-Bimber casks, previously used to mature Bimber’s award-winning single malts, impart their unique character to Apogee. Known for their fruit-forward profile and spice-rich undertones, these casks infuse the whisky with remarkable layers of flavour. The result is a whisky that is truly unique.
