Fleshy and vibrant, the nose is intense, revealing notes of cherry, blackcurrant and hints of spice. The palate is full-bodied and fresh, with silky tannins. On the palate, the cherry fruit is accompanied by mineral notes.
Domaine Cornu-Camus is a family-owned winery in Echevronne, a village in the Côte d’Or region of Burgundy, France. The Cornu family has been growing grapes in this area since the 13th century, but it was Pierre Cornu who started to estate-bottle the wine in the late 1970s. He married Bernadette Camus, another winemaker, and together they expanded the domaine to about 30 acres of vineyards. Their daughter Lydia joined them in 2007, after studying enology at Beaune, and brought her husband Christophe Pertuzot, who had worked at Domaine Leroy. They now manage the domaine together, producing classic Burgundy wines.
