Fantini Farnese Sangiovese Terre di Chieti
As we did when we were looking for a budget-friendly Valpolicella alternative, this is our answer to a great Chianti for under £20… No, it’s not Chianti, but it’s the same grape variety – Sangiovese – grown in neighbouring Abruzzo and it offers sooooo much more bang for the buck than any Chianti we have tried at this price point. Snap it up. Lap it up. Then come back for more!

This is a youthful and appealing Sangiovese. It is intense on the nose with vibrant red fruit, cherries and herbal characters.
A youthful and appealing wine, garnet red in colour and intense on the nose with vibrant red fruit, cherries and herbal characters. On the palate, it has bright fruity notes of strawberry and morello cherry, with subtle vanilla characters from the oak. The wine is well-balanced and medium-bodied with structured, firm tannins, fresh acidity and a long finish.
