Pleurat Shabani – the developer of Konik’s Tail – has quite a story of his own:

Dropping out of school in war-torn Kosovo, he found his way to London where he worked his way from homeless pot washer to bartender, mixologist and respected spirit connoisseur.

During this period he dreamed of creating his own vodka brand.  Years of research followed and Pleurat took to the farms of Poland to find out for himself what made truly excellent vodka. He would sleep beside the grains – waking to test, every day, the effect of the soil, the climate, and the harvesting processes. After much experimentation and trial and error, Pleurat settled on the final recipe for his vodka which features three grains- Spelt, Rye and Wheat.

Today, the brand is famed for the quality of its martini’s and is used in such prestigious venues as Dukes and The Connaught Hotel, benefiting from a huge following among leading bartenders.
