Necessary Evil, Wire Works Whisky

Another fantastic addition to our range from the folk at White Peak Distillery.

This single malt whisky reflects long tradition of beer making of it’s region, Derbyshire.  It is finished in casks previously used to age an award-winning imperial stout (Thornbridge Brewery’s Necessary Evil) which in turn were orginally used to mature Pedro Ximenez sherry and Bourbon.

A sweet & savoury stout finish single malt whisky, with hazelnuts, light roast coffee, roasted malt and a hint of jasmine on the nose. You’ll find cocoa nibs, dates, prunes, hazelnuts and marmalade on the palate with peppery high notes and a sweet malty, smoky finish.

Wire Works Whisky is underpinned by a focus on flavour and their unique, proud Derbyshire heritage. Flavours are built on their considered approach to whisky-making, resulting in a complex, well-balanced spirits that are lightly-peated.

Since their first release in 2022, they’ve been received positive reviews and have won awards for several Wire Works Whiskies.
