Zagare Vermentino, Terre Siciliane
Fresh and grapey, easy-going and summery Sicilian white. Tastes of grapes – not so frequent as you might imagine – plus a little squeeze of lemon and something slightly baking spicy. It’s one of those wines that goes down as simple but effective. Think aperitifs and barbecues in the garden.

Vermentino thrives near the sea, such as on Sicily’s west coast where these grapes are cultivated – also the source of some of the island’s best Grillo. Fermentation is in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks followed by a short period on fine lees.
Ripe stone fruit aromas with preserved lemon characters and floral notes. The palate has apricot, citrus peel and grapefruit pith, an appealing texture and minerality, fresh acidity and a gently savoury finish.
