This wine is soft and silky, fruit-forward, herbal with a pinch of spiciness. All of which has led it to become our go-to curry wine. Equally great with other spicy foods such as Mexican, Middle Eastern or even Szechuan Chinese.

A delightfully light but layered wine – interesting seeing as it’s the same principal grape varieties as big ol’ Chateauneuf-du-Pape a little further East. The nose is enthralling with fragrant rose and violet and hints of cedar. The palate is medium to light but lingering where red fruits mingle with notes of mediterranean herbs, baking spices and a hint of liquorice.

In the glass, the wine has a bright ruby colour with a fresh, herby, garrigue nose. A touch of liquorice is followed by full-flavoured and intense, typically southern flavours. Equal measures of Syrah, Carignan and Grenache and a dash of Mouvèdre provide youth, excellent balance and generous and gentle structure.
