1612 Grand Viognier, Cellier des Chartreux
Viognier can be tricky grape. Harvest too early and it can be taught and characterless. Wait just a few days and it can be too ripe and the wine is flabby and bland.? But get the timing right and it balances a crisp citrus opening with golden, stone fruit depth.
