A crisp, medium-bodied white wine made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes in the Loire Valley region of France. Look for aromas of citrus, green apple, white flowers, and the tell-tale wisp of smoky minerality often described as “gunflint”, along with bright and expressive flavours of citrus and stone fruit, such as white peach and grapefruit. The wine begins with crisp refreshing acidity and finishes long and smooth with a touch of creaminess derived from the wine’s ageing on its lees.
The Figeat family has been making wine for generations and is recognized for producing elegant Pouilly-Fumé with a signature smoky, flinty character. Current head-winemaker, André Figeat, sealed his fate as a vigneron when he fell in a vat of pressed juice at age 2! Nowadays André runs a state-of-the-art winery with his daughter, Anne-Sophie.
