Domaine de la Ville de Colmar Pinot Gris
Furmint is Hungary’s leading white grape variety and is a seriously hot ticket right now with people looking for great quality wines that are also a little different from the usual Chardonnays and Sauvignons.

Rather than when making sweet Tokaji, Furmint grapes are harvested earlier, before the famous noble rot that creates the sweet wine, and all of the natural sugars are allowed to ferment into alcohol. The result is a dry wine with some of the depth (and just a hint of residual sugar) that characterises its more famous counterpart.
Plenty of rich spicy apricot fruit and lovely mineral freshness, this wine is produced using hand-harvested grapes from vines planted on the volcanic soils of the Lapis vineyard. It’s a great match for paté and warm crusty bread or mushroom dishes such as Mushroom Stroganoff. It’s also great with smoked fish.
