M de Montguéret, Crémant de Loire, Brut
An amazing sparkler for the price, much like a classic Champagne. This blend, mainly of Chardonnay, has plenty of ripe white fruits cut with minerality from the Chenin Blanc. The mousse gives the wine a creamy character while the fruitiness preserves freshness.

The sparkling wines of the Loire Valley are generally based on the region’s second most common grape variety, Chenin Blanc (Sauvignon Blanc is the most widely produced, but rarely used in sparkling wines.) And this is no exception, blending Chenin Blanc with a little Chardonnay and, interestingly, a little Cabernet Franc to give depth much as the Pinots do in Champagne blends.
It’s light, clean and refreshing, with soft lemon mousse, white fruits cut with minerality, a hints of lime, bayleaf and honeysuckle and a creamy, mouth-filling finish.
