This wine is from the furthest East you can go in the Languedoc. A kilometre or two North and you’d be in Lirac. A kilometre or two East and you’d be over the Rhône in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This wine shows how powerful Grenache can become when it’s grown in the sun of the southern Rhône valley. Add to that the earthy, lustiness of Marselan, mellow it in oak barrels, half old, half new, for 18 months and you have a wine of huge depth and complexity.
